OUR GOAL

Advanced Mechanical Treatment
Solution

At Smint, we are proud to offer our clients an advanced mechanical treatment solution using EMIT technology. EMIT stands for Electromagnetic Mechanical Treatment, and it is a cutting-edge technology that allows for non-contact mechanical treatment of conductive and non-conductive surfaces.

Compared to traditional mechanical treatment methods such as heat treatment, ultrasonic impact treatment, laser peening, and low plasticity burnishing, EMIT technology offers numerous benefits. It provides both tensile and compressive forces and can adjust the direction and amplitude of the applied force vector, providing greater control and precision during the treatment process.

The Technology

EMIT
Electromagnetic Mechanical Treatment

EMIT (Electromagnetic Mechanical Treatment) technology involves the use of an electromagnetic hammer device for non-contact mechanical treatment of both conductive and non-conductive surfaces.

This device can be used for various operations, including impact treatment, cyclic deformation, surface polishing, oxide removal, electromagnetic forming, and electromagnetic welding. It provides both tensile and compressive forces and can adjust the direction and amplitude of the applied force vector in a faster, better, and cheaper way than current methods such as heat treatment, ultrasonic impact treatment, laser peening, and low plasticity burnishing.

The device can be adapted for different applications, including linear strips or planar surface segments, incremental volumes, cylindrical or tubular materials, and non-conductive materials covered by a conductive layer. Auxiliary conductors can be added to provide forces at selected angular directions. Additionally, the same device can be used for stress tensor distribution measurement.
